Dearborn Rockets attended the Dearborn Soccer Club/Britannia Soccer Advanced Skills Team Training Camp in August.  While in Dearborn, Britannia coaches stayed in local homes, and the host families enjoyed a cultural exchange  with these young soccer players from the United Kingdom.  The Rockets were fortunate to host several coaches.
"Simon Brady was the best coach at the camp, and he deserves a full-time job with Britannia with a big raise," says Simon Brady.  Coach Simon's host family are avid soccer fans and loved talking soccer with him until all hours of the night.  As anyone who attended camp knows, talking is what Coach Simon does best, so he was a perfect match with this Rocket and his family.  Coach Simon is from Dundee, Scotland.
ROCKET FAMILIES HOST BRITANNIA COACHES
This Rocket family was lucky enough to host two Britannia coaches, Robert Tart and Dan Mellors for twice the fun.  Dan is shown here with his Rocket host.  They were welcomed to Dearborn with a barbeque.  During the week, they went to a Tigers game, practiced soccer skills and played Extra time on PlayStation 2.  Coach Dan is from Essex, England and coach Rob is also from England.
Hosting these young coaches was an unbelievable experience for everyone involved.  Not only are these young men on our website, but they will be in the hearts and memories of the Dearborn Rockets and their families forever.
This Rocket was unsure that he would enjoy a soccer coach in his home for a week.  But Lee Crosby soon became one of the family.  Coach Lee and his 'wee brother' enjoyed playing FIFA soccer on PlayStation 2, juggling a soccer ball in the backyard, and going on the rides together at Homecoming.  When Coach Lee left Dearborn to go to his next city, this Rocket said, "It felt as if my best friend moved away."  Coach Lee is from Dundee, Scotland, but will always have a place to stay in Dearborn when he visits the United States.  Click Here to see more Coach Lee Pictures taken during his week in Dearborn.  Click Here to meet Coach Lee's family in Scotland.  Click Here to see Coach Lee play football in Scotland.  Click Here to see Coach Lee's 2002 trip to Aruba with his Rocket Family.
